Marion Kaplan (marionkaplan@compuserve.com). Born in London, Kaplan worked as a photojournalist and writer in Africa for twenty years, covering a broad range of stories for magazines and newspapers including National Geographic and Time in the US and The Observer in London. She is now based in Europe, where she has photographed extensively in Spain, Portugal and France. She is the author of the book, The Portuguese: The Land and Its People, published by Viking/Penguin.
